Texas Department of Public Safety maintains driver’s licenses and driving records and manages the Texas vehicle inspection system.

Texas Department of Transportation maintains the roadways and highways of Texas and oversees the state’s transportation infrastructure. Their website offers a wealth of information, including safety tips for motorcycle and bicycle safety.

Texas Department of Motor Vehicles is responsible for vehicle registration and titling, issuing motor carrier operating authority, and motor carrier enforcement.

Texas Transit Association includes metropolitan transit authorities, small urban transit districts and rural transit districts in the State of Texas, and private and public entities from across the nation, organized to promote all modes of public transportation.

Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) is responsible for regulating the insurance industry while protecting the people and businesses that are served by insurance. National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health is the federal agency responsible for conducting research and making recommendations for the prevention of work-related injury and illness.

Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation is the umbrella licensing agency of the State of Texas, responsible for the regulation of 29 occupations and industries.

Products Liability

Consumer Product Safety Commission – The CPSC is charged with protecting the public from unreasonable risks of injury or death associated with the use of consumer products. The CPSC website provides safety guides and programs; information on recalls by company, country of origin or product category; and links to the statutes, laws, rules and regulations governing consumer safety.

Recalls.gov is a central government website containing recall information for consumer products, motor vehicles, boats, food, medicine, cosmetics and environmental products.
